Pasteur Healthcare Consulting LLC was founded by Pernell Husband to help healthcare organizations strengthen sterile processing operations, develop their workforce, prepare for regulatory and accreditation inspections, and protect the patients who depend upon properly reprocessed medical devices.
Company history
The company represents the next chapter in a career that began more than 30 years ago in the U.S. Navy and has included surgical technology, sterile processing, department leadership, healthcare education, interim management, and consulting.
Since 2009, Pernell has worked with Central Sterilization Solutions LLC, an established industry leader in sterile processing education and consulting. During his years with the company, he held senior leadership, educational, and consulting responsibilities, including serving as an operational partner, Chief Operating Officer, educator, and Lead Consultant.
In these roles, he helped support sterile processing professionals, healthcare organizations, and educational programs through departmental assessments, staff education, certification preparation, operational improvement, leadership development, and regulatory-readiness initiatives — work that provided extensive experience in evaluating real-world departments, identifying operational and compliance gaps, developing practical recommendations, and working with hospital leaders to strengthen quality and patient safety.
Pasteur Healthcare Consulting builds upon that experience while establishing its own identity, service model, and vision for the future. The company is founded on a straightforward principle: healthcare organizations need more than reports that identify problems. They need knowledgeable partners who understand the realities of sterile processing and can help turn standards, findings, and recommendations into sustainable daily practices.
Although Pasteur Healthcare Consulting is a separate company, Pernell expects to maintain a positive professional relationship with Central Sterilization Solutions and its owner, Harry Mullen, including opportunities for future collaboration, education, and consulting.

Founder and Principal Consultant
Pernell Husband, CRCST
A U.S. Navy-trained surgical technician, sterile processing leader, educator, and consultant with more than 30 years of experience in perioperative services and sterile processing. His career began in the military healthcare system and later expanded into civilian community hospitals, academic medical centers, university health systems, and multi-hospital organizations — in frontline technical, educational, managerial, administrative, interim-leadership, and consulting roles.
